Bracing - Calculate Rod Lengths

(Revised: 04/01/09)

This lesson uses the Frames/Data/Holes screen to figure the length of the Rods.

To calculate the length of the Rod, you need to know the Overall distance between the Rod Slots and the Bay Space.

1.    Determine the distance between Slots.

2.    11/0/11 - 0/7/8 = 10/5/3

3.    A = Slot Distance
B = Bay Space
C = Hypotenuse

4.    Calculate…
A = 10/5/3
B = 25/0/0
C = 27/1/1

Note: Each rod may have different slot locations.

5.    Add the Adjustment at each end of the calculated Hypotenuse.

Sample:
27/1/1 + 0/4/0 + 0/4/0 = 27/9/1

6.    Round up to the nearest inch
Length = 27'-10"
